Hey! this article is about another solo-unplanned trip on a
day off from MahaKali shooting.
After
shooting till 8 am in the morning, straight 18 hours shift, it was another day
off. I instantly chose from my quick bucket list to go to Kondeshwar.
I got my company cab from Umargaon to Malad railway station.
11 am to 1:30 pm car journey.
I boarded Mumbai local from Malad to dadar, and thus started
the train journey.
(Wherever you are, if you want to go to Kondeshawar, 1st
destination to reach is Dadar station unless you are using private vehicle. You
can board direct train to Badlapur from there, which is available at around
every 30 minutes. It takes about 1.5 hours from dadar to badlapur station.)
Through out most part of the journey, you will find greenery on both sides.
Listening to my fav tracks which were also from badlapur
movie I reached there at 4 PM.
(Close to the station area you can get auto rickshaw. If
it’s a monsoon season more public visits this place so you can get sharing
rickshaw from station to kondeshwar temple (50 Rs one way) otherwise you need
to hire it.)
I hired a auto-rickshaw for 400 Rs. (Up and down). The
distance is just around 8 kms but the road is really bad plus there are
elevations and slopes throughout the mountain road which are risky that’s why
rickshaw drivers won`t agree for lesser fair.
Of course you can take your own car or motor bike over there
but for a person who is from a far off place like me that’s not an option.
Private vehicles aren`t for hire over there, you just have to bring it own your
own.
Once you enter the mountain area, you are goanna love the
picture perfect trodden path surrounded by beautiful greenery, mountains, river,
cattle grazing, birds flying etc.
Here the journey is as beautiful as the
destination. I was awestruck by the beauty of this place. I was beginning to
fall in love with more than 50 shades of green but soon enough light started
fading coz of dark clouds, it was about to rain.
It took around 20 minutes to reach Kondeshwar temple. It is
a lord Shiva temple in the midst of greenery, mountain, waterfalls and
river.
I knew it was just about to rain, so I hurried to click some
photos, because I wasn’t carrying any waterproof gear. Soon after, thunder
lightening started, somehow I managed to capture a perfect moment in my camera.
It was getting darker with time and in a few minutes it
begin to rain, I started my backwards journey wishing I had reached there
earlier.
(Any of you planning to go there, reach there by noon to
spend quality peaceful time in the lap of Mother Nature.)
On my way back I
noticed people taking bath in the waterfall while overhead it was raining.
It looked like they must be having a good time. I hadn`t planned for this so after capturing it, I
carried on my backwards journey,
By that time it was raining heavily and I kept looking at
beautiful surrounding, I wanted to grasp more, much of it in me, in order that
it may fall into my desire and make me sick from having it more than it needs
(Thought inspired by opening lines from Shakespeare`s twelfth night). I tried more than
I could, I wish I could stay there longer and may be ill do it next time.
By the the time I reached back to Badlapur station area, it
was 6 pm but dark already.
Thanks to Hanumant (Pappu bhai) (auto rickshaw driver) for
correct guidance and good driving on those bad roads.
After paying and saying thanks to him I entered Matoshree
restaurant, “it is one of the best here”- Pappu bhai).
I had uttapam and tea while it was raining outside. I enjoyed my tasty meal with music.
When the
rain slowed down, I walked to the station to return to my shooting world
like the way I came.
This place can be visited during any time of the year,
but its more delightful during monsoon. If you have your own vehicle you would
like it more but otherwise you may need to hire an auto rickshaw. I would have
you prefer Hanumant (Pappu bhai -08552953316)
You can spend a perfect refreshing day off here, away from the chaos of city or
whatever work you do. The place is safe so you can visit it solo, with
friends, with partner or family. No issues at all, just don’t click photos of
local people without asking them.
